What You Need To Know About Cooking Oils

Cooking oil is something most of us use every single day. Its important to know a few basic healthy tips when choosing and using oils.

  • Always check the smoke point for cooking oil. Higher smoke point is better.
  •  Replacing the saturated and trans-fat with monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fat is good for our health. Polyunsaturated fats can help reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol levels, and they help support the overall health of your body’s cells. They also contain vitamin E. Monounsaturated fats also contain Vitamin E that is a good antioxidant.
  •   Don’t reuse the oil once it’s reached the smoke point as oil become rancid and that is not good for health.
